Best Bars in Bangkok

Bars in Bangkok are like everything else in Bangkok: loud, inventive, and completely on its own terms. Let’s get into it.

Whether you’re after a rooftop with views that make you feel like you own the city, or a speakeasy that takes three wrong turns to find, there is genuinely something on this list for every kind of night. Here’s where to go.

Bar.Yard

40th Floor, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, 78 Soi Ton Son, Lumpini

Google Maps

On the 40th floor of the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Bar.Yard describes itself as a tiki bar meets American backyard barbecue, with a kitchen open until 1:30am and tropical-inspired cocktails while a DJ plays electro-funk beats.

The views over Lumphini Park and the Bangkok skyline are genuinely hard to argue with. It’s won the BK B.A.D. Award for Best Rooftop Bar in Bangkok three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and 2025. The food leans Pan-Latin with a Thai edge. Come for sunset, stay until your Uber home feels like a betrayal.

The Pickwicks Chronicles

76/10 Lumphini, Langsuan Road, Pathum Wan

Google Map Location

Inspired by Charles Dickens’ debut novel, The Pickwick Papers, this bar was founded by Gliga Robert Gabriel. He wanted to create a Gatsby-style space where everyone could come in, have fun, and feel at home. The rooftop is small with no sweeping city views to brag about, but the mood is warm, intimate, and full of character.

The kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. Every cocktail on the menu is named after a Dickens character. The gin flights are particularly good. Industry Nights on Mondays and Tuesdays mean buy-one-get-one deals, and ladies’ night on Thursdays includes Prosecco discounts.

Thaipioka

Salil Hotel, Thonglor Soi 1, Sukhumvit

Google map location

Hidden behind an unmarked wooden door at the corner of Salil Hotel on Thonglor Soi 1, Thaipioka welcomes you with simple yet stylish interiors set off by soft, discreet lighting. A lengthy and massive teakwood bar, which can seat up to 20 guests, takes up most of the space.

The concept is Thai ingredients in cocktail form, and the execution is genuinely impressive. Popular drinks include the Mulberry Sangria, Turmeric Thai Tea, and Sesame Manhattan. It’s the kind of bar that makes you rethink what a cocktail can smell like. Live DJs on Fridays and Saturdays.

MOJJO Rooftop Lounge & Bar

32nd Floor, SKYVIEW Hotel Bangkok, 12 Sukhumvit Soi 24

Google map location

MOJJO is all about mid-century Cuban furnishings, rum-heavy drinks, smooth cigars, and Latin beats to fully transport you back to 1905 Havana. The views from the 32nd floor over the Sukhumvit skyline are wide and impressive.

The cocktails are great, the food is bold and comforting, and the atmosphere is both relaxed and festive. Note that the bar is currently undergoing a renovation, so check their socials before heading over. Worth the wait when it’s back.

TT Rooftop Bar

Right next to Thonglor BTS Station, Watthana

Google map location

This one is the antidote to Bangkok’s polished rooftop scene, and our personal favourite. A very unassuming, intimate, relaxed bar with craft beer and cocktails. Not pretentious at all. Few rooftops in Bangkok offer this mix of affordability, character, and prime location.

The BTS proximity makes it easy to reach, though the five-floor stair climb adds to its off-the-beaten-path appeal. Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 pm daily. The views are low-rise and honest, the crowd is local, and the vibes are exactly right for a Tuesday.

Bukowski & Co.

Bukowski-and-Co.-best-bars-in-bangkok-in-songwat-road

1338B Song Wat Road, Samphanthawong (above Bad Poutine)

Google map location

Named after the poet, built on the principle that a bar should feel like a community space first. Every couple of days, the spot rotates out a different bartender, so you get a customised experience tailored by the bartender’s personality and expertise.

There’s no fixed menu; it’s ingredient-based, a kind of omakase experience. The counter bar is decked with karaoke-esque fairy lights, art pieces, and a growing school of fish doodled on the wall by friends of the bar. It’s scruffy, warm, and exactly the kind of bar Bangkok does well.

Mischa Cheap

1350 Song Wat Road, Samphanthawong (formerly Khaosan Road)

Google map location

Mischa Cheap has moved from its original Khaosan Road home to Song Wat Road in Chinatown, and the spirit of the place has come with it. A late afternoon to evening bar with easy drinks like beer, gin, or simple cocktails.

Friendly, DIY, art school vibe with indie, classic rock, pop, electronics to guilty pleasures music. No scenes, no styles, no problems. That last line is a promise they keep. One of the more genuinely fun places to spend a few hours in Bangkok.

Sit in Soi

1003/3-4 Thanon Song Wat, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100

Google map location

Sit in Soi does a neat trick: it’s a café by day and a live music bar by night, and it does both without feeling like it’s trying too hard at either. When the sun goes down, the siren songs kick in and the floral cocktails come out. Familiar enough to order with confidence, unique enough to make you think about what’s in them.

The food keeps things easy: pasta, sandwiches, fries, the kind of thing you actually want to eat while you’re drinking. The outdoor seating area is the real draw though. Song Wat quiets down in the evenings in a way that most of Bangkok doesn’t, and sitting outside here with a drink feels less like a night out and more like accidentally finding somewhere genuinely nice to be. It earns its spot on this list for that alone.

Bar Us

1 Soi Sukhumvit 26, Khlong Tan Nuea, Khlong Toei

Google map location

Bar Us started racking up international awards and it seems like many spots around the city became more daring with their savory options as a result. The menu is divided into starters, mains, afters, and all night, each exploring ingredients seen in restaurants.

Combos include beef and onion, almond and ylang-ylang flowers, and more. The seats are arranged so that you sit opposite other people at the bar, and a light shines from above at the table in front of you. All of that makes the setting feel like you’re anywhere but a bar. Ranked No. 15 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2025. It’s that good.

Drywave Cocktail Bar

2nd Floor, J Avenue, Thonglor Soi 13, Sukhumvit

Google map location

Owner-bartender Supwit “Palm” Muttarattana‘s menu features over 30 classic recipes from one of 10 flavour profiles or “waves.” You can stick to the standbys, such as the Rob Roy or Dirty Martini, or sample one of 18 “Super Classics”, combining two classics with opposing flavors into a “third wave.”

The decor is warm and wave-like, the sound system is excellent, and the whole thing feels like a bar run by someone who has thought very carefully about what a bar should be. Ranked No. 1 Best Bar in Bangkok and Thailand. If you only go to one cocktail bar on this list, make it this one.

Tep Bar

Tep-Bar-bangkok-best-bangkok-bar-2026

69-71 Soi Nana, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Chinatown

Google map location

Tep Bar puts a Thai spin on tapas-style dining. Khao krieb wow, a traditional kite-sized rice cracker served with sweet chilli paste, is an all-time favourite and goes brilliantly with their infused yadong, a traditional almost medicinal infused rice whisky shot.

There’s a mini section dedicated to Thailand’s own Phraya Rum, with four drinks each inspired by the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. Bestseller “the thong” blends mango, wild honey, dill, lime, and gold leaf.

On Friday to Sunday evenings, traditional Thai music is performed live by university students. It is loud and wonderful and completely unlike anywhere else. This, my friends, is not to be missed.

25-27 Soi Rammaitree (Soi Nana), Pom Prap, Chinatown

Google map location

The door handle is a cocktail shaker. The bartenders wear white shirts and suspenders. On weekends, a pianist plays neo-classical compositions through the speakers. There is opera music playing in the toilets. The bill arrives tucked inside a bible.

The menu is split into oyster drinks, uni drinks, and a section called “excessive is necessary.” Every drink comes with a paired bite. The Uni Martini arrives slushy-cold with bafun uni on the back of your hand and a hay-smoked olive, with printed instructions on how to consume them in the correct order. None of this should work. All of it does.

No. 26 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars. Sit at the counter, order the Uni Martini first, and stay for the Negroni.
