bangkok travel VTL test and go scheme

Bangkok hotels run the gamut from fancy to basic. Looking to indulge in the city of angels? Here’s a list you’ll need.

Bangkok is my everything. Okay maybe not everything, but it does mean a whole lot to me. If you’re new to this blog, check out my love letter to this City of Angels

There is a difference in this article compared to my other hotel lists in Bangkok – this one’s for when you want to treat yourself! Check out this top-of-the-line list of nine different hotels that are sure to make your trip absolutely unforgettable.

Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River

Aaahh, it gives me great pleasure to kick off this list with a riverfront hotel. The Chao Phraya River banks are dotted with luxury hotels, featuring stunning views of the river and the spellbinding Bangkok skyline.

This luxury property comes with rooms that are spacious and have floor-to-ceiling windows so you can soak in the riverfront from the comfort of your room. They have a wide range of rooms available, from a simple Deluxe king bedroom to a large Studio Suite for your whole family.

For indulgence, there’s no better place than Four Seasons’ spa, where they offer massages or treatments such as facials that can help soothe your body after a long day exploring Bangkok. As for food options, the restaurant serves both Thai dishes and international cuisine, so there’s something for everyone! Though if you ask me, I’d highly recommend going for Thai food – cos’, when in Rome, no?

There are plenty of amenities offered at this resort including a fitness centre with new equipment plus a swimming pool where guests can relax after busy days walking around town.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport, you can reach this hotel by taxi, private car transfer, or Airport Rail Link to Phloen Chit BTS Station, followed by a short walk to the hotel. The estimated time from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the hotel is around 45 minutes by taxi and around 30 minutes by Airport Rail Link.

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Another not-to-be-missed luxury property in Bangkok, the 5-star Mandarin Oriental is located also by the Chao Phraya River, about 6 minutes from Four Seasons.

This luxury hotel is close to several modes of public transportation, including the BTS Skytrain station (the elevated train), MRT subway station (the underground train) and the Chao Phraya River ferry boat service.

You’ll be staying in a hotel with 391 rooms and suites, 8 dining options, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and wellness centre, and a fitness centre. Because of its location by the river, nearby attractions include Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Arun, and The Grand Palace.

This indulgent hotel is known for its impeccable service, beautiful river views, elegant rooms and suites and excellent dining options.

Getting here from the airport is not hard – The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is located about 30 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport by taxi. Alternatively, you can take the Airport Rail Link from the airport to Makkasan Station, and then transfer to the BTS Skytrain and alight at Saphan Taksin Station. From there, you can take a 15-minute river taxi to the hotel’s private pier (love this journey for you, by the way).

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is a luxury resort located in Bangkok, Thailand. This 5-star resort is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It has 309 rooms and suites, 4 dining options, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and wellness centre, a fitness centre and meeting and event facilities. They also offer boat transfers to central Bangkok.

This hotel is recommended for luxury travellers looking for a serene escape in Bangkok and is located approximately 30 kilometres from Suvarnabhumi Airport. To reach the hotel from Suvarnabhumi Airport, you can take a taxi or train. Here’s how:

  1. Taxi – This is the most convenient option as you can easily find a taxi at the airport and it will take approximately 40 minutes to reach the resort. However, traffic in Bangkok can be painful, so do factor in time (and patience).
  2. Airport Rail Link – This is a public transportation option, which is faster and cheaper than a taxi. Take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai Station, then transfer to a taxi or take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin Station and take a taxi or hotel shuttle boat to the resort.

You can also pre-book a private transfer with the hotel, which will ensure a smooth and stress-free journey to the resort.

Staying in an indulgent hotel means enjoying indulgent dining options. Here are some options you can consider while seated on the lap of Bangkok luxury:

  3. Riverside Terrace – An open-air restaurant offering international cuisine.
  4. The Market – A casual all-day dining restaurant serving Thai and international cuisine.
  5. In-room dining – Room service is available 24 hours a day for guests who prefer to dine in the comfort of their rooms.
